Where and when will it take place?
The smell training prototype will be delivered to your house in Norwich.
Participants will be involved from November 2023 to April 2024.
What will you do?
You will first receive the smell training prototype (SmellCare) at your house, delivered by us on our first visit. We will download the companion App to your phone and demonstrate how to do digital smell training.
You will be asked to do a 5-minute smell training session twice every day over the duration of six months. Each month, the researchers will visit you, gather your feedback on the experience and deal with the maintenance of the device.
What will you do get out of it?
By using novel digital smell training technology, you'll be contributing to important research about the sense of smell and helping to shape the future of smell care.
Not only will you be making a difference, but you'll also get to attend three exciting community meetups and a final event, where you'll have the chance to connect with other participants and share your experiences. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to engage with project partners and experts in smell care.
For your valuable participation, you'll receive a £100 gift voucher, given to you in installments during our monthly visits. And for attending the meetups and events, we'll even reimburse your travel expenses up to £15 per participant.
